@Stash to do that I think you should use a extension like sh404sef...now 4SEF (j4and after) https://weeblr.com/joomla-seo-analytics-security/sh404sef . I managet it prevouly on J3 with this extension.

Thanks for the help/feedback. Currently I have around 700 categories. My goal is to display images from this categories randomly and not from specific categories...I'll check the core Random image module...and see if it can be done... Thanks again.

Now I’m planning to upgrade. Is the JoomImages module available for JoomGallery 4? Or can it be replaced by a similar module, for example, to display random photos from different categories?
