It's not logical to have to do it this way! My friend's site has 14 menu links to galleries, and having to delete them and recreate them isn't right.

Hi,
After using the JG3 maintenance manager, when I tried to import its data into the same site, I had numerous errors when importing the images into JG4.
By importing them from a copy of the J3 site, it worked.
But the menus no longer work: “The view you requested is not available.” All JG categories in menu links have been replaced by “root”.
What did I forget? -
I succeeded to solve these problems.
I imported the data from JG3 but with difficulties. I will create a new thread in JG4 section.

Thank you Elfangor93.
Before I encountered that problem, I migrated on a local server a copy of the site and migrate it to J5, the installed JG4 but I was never able to import data from JG3.
I will try to understand how to make changes to alias and catpath

Hi,
I'm not an user of JoomGallery but helps a friend to migrate her site to Joomla 5.
When I update JG to 3.7.0 with autoupdate or manual installation, I get no error. But on the main page of JG, the version is 3.6.2
How could I solve that?Joomla! version is 3.10.12-2025-01-08-EOLfix, PHP 8.0.30, database on MySQL 8.0, I'm using Firefox 136.0.1
Then If I use the maintenance manager, a category has a consistent alias to false, and all categories have consistent catpath to false.
The category with inconsistent alias name is "A l'huile ou à l'eau", its alias "francais/huiles-et-acryliques-2003-2012", its ID 5, and I don't find where I could find the catpath in the administration.
So I took a look int the database, the catpath is "francais_3/a_lhuile_ou_a_leau_5". "Français" is the parent category, its ID is 3, its alias "francais".
What can I do to correct this “unconsistent” data? Thanks for your help!

Hello,
How could I test that version on a copy of a J3 website using the J3 version of JoomlGallery?
Migration to J4 without uninstall JoomGallry for J3 ?
Thanks for your reply!

Thank you both.
Is there a way to get the new files? I don't use GIT.

As I said, the version on Github can't be tested!
It's the only thing I can do (and translate into French, if necessary), I'm not a coder.
Adding an image fails, you created an issue on april 3 and nothing new.
So I think I will look for another gallery extension. My friend is not able to migrate herself and I don't know what will happen to me in a year's time, I'm not young anymore.

Hi,
A friend of mine is using JoomGallery for a while and I would like to migrate her site from J3 to J4.
I tried to use the Github version of JoomGallery on a test site ans first saw that the tables have not the same fields.
Then I added a new category and I tried to add an image. As I said on Github issues tab, that's not possible. 'fontanil in https://github.com/JoomGalleryfriends/JG4-dev/issues/13)
So: how to test JoomGallery for Joomla! 4?
Thanks in advance!
