  • Viewing an image incorrectly marks the prior and next images as viewed

Thanks for that, I've just installed and enabled Fancybox and Shadowbox and went to view an image, and both of these plugins exhibit the same behaviour. Can the code in Joomgallery be adjusted so that it doesn't do this? I only viewed the centre image.

The attached example shows what's happening with Shadowbox.

EDIT: Highslide JS, DHTML Container, JavaScript Window and Thickbox 3 do not do this. Lightbox 2, Shadowbox, Slimbox and Prettyphoto do. Fancybox, when I click on an image, marks that image, the next one and the third images as viewed.

Hi there, thanks for the quick reply. I am not using any overrides, except for changing the word "Hits" to "Views". It's a brand new Joomla/JoomGallery install (yesterday).

When I view one image, as long as there is an image before it and after it, Joomgallery marks all three images as viewed.

You can see what I mean if you select any image from any of my galleries at https://disney.dansmith.ca. Go to the Album view and select any page, then click on an image and then click on the detail view. The image will open in a Slimbox window. Then go back to the page view and look at the number of hits (views) below each image. Each image will show it had '1' view, even though I only viewed the middle image, therefore causing inaccurate viewing statistics.

This has been an ongoing problem with many prior versions and I believe is a bug that I'm hoping can be fixed in subsequent versions.

Is anyone aware of this? I posted on this very issue a few years ago and I don't think got a definitive response on if/when it was going to be fixed, or even acknowledgement that it was an issue.

I love Joomgallery... I've got several websites going with a lot of images! Many thanks for your consideration!

Now I have another problem. Animated GIF files are failing to upload.

    Here's what it says:

    An error has occurred.

0 GifCreator: v1.0.0: You have to give resource image variables, image URL or image binary sources in $frames array. ()
    Return to Control Panel

I'm not sure what this is all about. All this since upgrading to PHP 8.0

That doesn't really do much for Imagemagick, if I wanted to stop using GD2 and use that instead. All of my image uploads with Imagemagick are like that.

Ok, wait, I think it's working now. In PHP.ini (for 8.0), in the [Extensions] area, it had extension=php_gd2.dll. I just changed that to php_gd.dll and reloaded IIS, and it seems to be working fine now.

    Sorry for the scare! :/

    Ok, ImageMagick gives me this:

    Upload complete (File-Size: 237.89 KB)

Not sure what to do now. :(

Hi, I just upgraded to PHP 8.0 and can't upload any images to my gallery because GD2 no longer works. In v8.0, PHP Has renamed the extension file to simply, "php_gd.dll". I tried switching the image processor back to GD, but JoomGallery thinks that's GD1 and that doesn't work anymore either. Now I think I need to get ImageMagick installed if I can't use GD2 anymore.

Will there be a patch or a fix for this soon?

Well, there are Joomla plugins that one can use to show video clips. I wonder if exploring that would solve my video requirements. It's definitely worth exploring!

Thanks for your quick reply, it's much appreciated.

Do you have any programming skills?

Do do not have any programming skills with PHP, at least, not in the context that would be expected of me to write a tags integration system into Joomgallery.

Could a future version of Joomgallery have the ability to add image tags? I'm having to rely on TorTags which I purchased a few years back but the author hasn't updated in all that time. It would be nice to be able to create tags in the same sort of fashion.

Speaking of TorTags, does anyone know how I can show the tags on the front end? The documentation and support are sorely lacking in every way.

Hi team, I really like Joomgallery and have been using it for several years now. I'm especially thankful that there are so many configurable options and pleased with the integration into Joomla. I was using v3.3.4 for the longest time - it has worked well for me in all that time. Then stumbled upon 3.3.5 on this website, and now I've upgraded and am happily using it and plan on using it as long as the developers want to keep developing. :)

I have one suggestion -- when will we be able to upload video clips? You see, I have taken many trips abroad and have taken many video clips along with the thousands of photos I've taken, and I'd love to showcase these videos to anyone who looks at my site and for any friends and relatives I direct there. They are SO relevant to the content of my galleries it seems almost a shame not to be able to show them to anyone.

I know you're going to tell me that it's a "gallery" application not a "video" application, but I feel given that (and I'm not lying), Joomgallery is the BEST gallery software for Joomla, and believe me, I've tried everything, that integration of video is a necessity.

I also know there is lots of work to do on the current version and any subsequent versions planned for release in the next couple of years, but could the developers please decide whether or not video will some day be part of our upload options?

Thank you for Joomgallery and all the hard work you do on it. I'm hoping for more features and updates when they become available.

    Cheers.
