Hi,
I have been using JoomGallery on a couple of my websites for a while and really like it.
I have installed the new "Joomla 4" on a test site and I was wondering if there are any plans to make a version of JoomGallery for Joomla 4.
Thanks.
Colin.

Hi Colin,
of course, we hope at some point the JoomGallery should also work with Joomla4.
A lot of work is required to make the JoomGallery compatible with Joomla4.
Unfortunately, we are only a small team and would appreciate any support.

Hi,
That's great
I'd be happy to help out with testing etc.
My Joomla 3 installations are:
https://colinsradiocontrol.com/index.php/gallery
http://ronniesmodels.com/index.php/gallery
My test Joomla 4 installation is at:
http://family.colinsbarnes.com/ (only just installed today so it's prety basic so far.)
Thanks.
Colin.
Hi, great news that a work is in progress in JoomGallery in Joomla 4.
I want to support you but I'm not a programmer so I made just now a PayPal donation.
I want to tell to all the people that use this great component in their sites to make even a small donation to JoomGallery so to help the programmers to work better and more time so this great component become available for Joomla 4.
I use it from 2012 in my website and it's far the BEST component for this job (Gallery / Images etc) in Joomla and I think that every penny worth for donation to support it.
Thank you and good luck to the huge job that you have to do for Joomla 4!
Thanks JoomGallery-fan.
Thank you for the friendly words and your support!
We really need your support here!
Hi, Guys!
I was using JoomGallery for many years so now it's time to pay my debt
I'm a pro agile tester so I could be a hand in testing.
Please, let me know if you still need help.
Hi, and thank you for your offer.
We always need support.
We are currently looking for testers for the new features in JoomGallery 3.6.0.

Hi,
have we got any information about the new version of JoomGallery for Joomla 4? Is there a possible date to be released?
Thanks.
You can check out our development repository to see watch our progress or to help realizing JoomGallery 4:
Yes, I do
I am not a programmer so I can not help you with the development.
I am a long time user of joomgallery and I love it. Recently I have had to convert a website from Joomla3 to Joomla4 and I copied all the Joomgallery files over to the new website.
Are there modules or plugins from Joomla3 that are usable also in Joomla4 ? I would love to be able to at least show the pictures in the collection.
ibrouwer no, you can't use JoomGallery for Joomla 3 in your new Joomla 4 website. Just copying files will cause many issue and it simply won't work. You need to wait for JoomGallery 4 to be released.
Thanks for the answer. I think I have not correctly explained myself: I copied the picture galleries (Originals, Details and Thumbnails), not the code files. How can I show the pictures from those folders as an interim solution to the final Joomla4 version ?
So you copied just images... and want to show them as a gallery? Then you'll have to use other gallery extension for Joomla 4
You can access every image stored in the folder /images/ by using the media manager of Joomla core.
Since JoomGallery stores its images (thumb, detail and original) in the folder /images/joomgallery/ you can access them with media manager or every other slideshow module who can access the images folder.
But when you want to manage images you need to wait for JoomGallery 4.
I am not a programmer so I can not help you with the development.
Thats not true. We also have jobs like translation and testing where you dont need to touch any code.
We apprechiate any help...
You can write me a PM if you would like to get involved with the development of JoomGallery 4.
How can I show the pictures from those folders as an interim solution to the final Joomla4 version ?
I like this idea.
That way you can already show images uploaded with JG3 inside Joomla 4. Please report back if you have found a solution.
Otherwise I would have an idea how to do it...
Hi,
A friend of mine is using JoomGallery for a while and I would like to migrate her site from J3 to J4.
I tried to use the Github version of JoomGallery on a test site ans first saw that the tables have not the same fields.
Then I added a new category and I tried to add an image. As I said on Github issues tab, that's not possible. 'fontanil in https://github.com/JoomGalleryfriends/JG4-dev/issues/13)
So: how to test JoomGallery for Joomla! 4?
Thanks in advance!
Joomla 3 will loose technical support at 17th of August 2023, so there is plenty of time to do a migration. No need to rush
JoomGallery 4 is under development and in current state, it's not ready to use on production sites.
You may help with development or testing to speed up the release Please, contact Elfangor93 if you want to join the team.
