Unable to create new category

Hi,

I've installed JoomGallery and have attempted to create a new category via Category Manager and am unable to do so. I get the message:

I have Joomla (version Joomla_3.9.23) installed on my C drive via localhost, experimenting before taking the plunge and going online.

Any advice regards this would be welcome. Thanks, Kevin.

Are you using PHP 8.0?

For a quickfix until someone solved this problem, try to switch your php version to something below 8.0.

Thanks Elfangor93. It is PHP 8.0. I'll attempt to use an earlier version as you suggest.

Is this the only problem with PHP8?

Or: If I created the category, can I switch back to PHP8?

no other problems have been reported so far.

You can just try it out...
